Nickel-Nichols
So, I needed to shoot another large format photos for my portfolio... here's my favorite shot from the shoot I did. This was all done in camera... no processing was done afterwards. Love that camera... so intimidating but so useful and awesome.

Fairytale-Brookside Gardens
So, lots goes into shooting a production in the woods in 100 degree weather. And, this was to show for it, for sure. So, I haven't blogged in a while.. I know I know... Back on track now though. There were 6 photographers in our group which made it difficult to get everything into play and set up. Amber Jen and I spent hours working on all the details, and then it just didn't go as well as we'd hoped, but hopefully Amber and I will reshoot and use the props again, and it will go well. It was quite interesting to me how easy it is to lose track of what you'd once envisioned. I think from now on, having an idea of an exact location is key. Needless to say, I let everyone else shoot for most of the time, while I spent my time shooting behind the scenes and natural lighting... it was way more fun for me doing that rather than trying to get everyone to move lights and set things up the way I wanted, and by then I had gotten pretty dehydrated out in the heat. So, here's a few shots. Thanks again, Savannah for being such a patient model!

Lomography-simulation
I have ignored my blog lately, been busy getting some stuff together for school, portfolio work and updating my website a bit. So, if you haven't been there, check it out :) It is slowly going through a make over :)
Here's a photo of the lovely couple on their wedding day... lomography style :) If you're not familiar with Lomography...Typically, Lomo owners will take color slide film (E6) and have it processed as standard 35mm film (C41). This results in over saturation of colors and at times some freaky results. All of which make Lomo as special as they are. So, I wanted their photo to look a little strange and out of the normal photos you see everywhere... I'm working on designing a photo album for them as well.. hopefully it goes as well as I'm planning.

a look into my world....
So, since Kris has moved out of his room, I moved all of our stuff into my room... Here's a before and after of the room. I know, the after is still a little cluttered, but, hey, I'm an artist :) These were inspired by John Gaulden's bedroom panoramics.. check them out here... http://www.wix.com/johngaulden/the-bedroom-project

See Ya Soon's
So, from time to time in life, you have to conjure up the strength to let things go, walk away, and tell yourself everything will be okay. Yeah, I understand, totally. In the past few weeks I have come across many people in four different states who have missed me as I have missed them greatly. Sometimes, you pick up right where you left off, sometimes you just sit and look at each other and say "hmmm... maybe us not being around one another was a good thing...meant to be perhaps." But, either way.... I hate saying goodbye...
Did a little research. I guess goodbye is shortened old english for god be with ye... or perhaps the biggest question posed is.. When we get up we say "good morning" When someone goes to bed we say "Goodnight" and when someone leaves we say "goodbye" What's a bye?
Well, when I leave ones I love, I normally just say "See ya Soon"... or, take care... Also, because goodbye seems so final... like, it's over and I'll never see you again. So, I told Kris the other day.. "see ya soon" or "talk to you soon" is the way I want to end our conversations.. it's not a final thing.. it's not over yet... just putting it off until a further date.
When I say goodbye, it makes me sad... and no matter how many times I drive away, it always feels just as heartbreaking knowing time will elapse between goodbye and hello... but, you move on, smile, and just keep driving...
So, sorry if this was a little dreary, hope the image makes up for it. This was a great night of long exposures under streetlights. Last night in town for a while. I love you.

Big Trucks-Streetlight Fireworks
So, I haven't been updating as much as I'd like to, but it's because i've been doing what I do best... well, maybe not best, but I make do... Driving millions of miles. So, here's lyrics to a Pedro the Lion song that was in my head forever while I was driving up 95.... And, it's really funny because my friend texted me today and we talked about Pedro the Lion... weird coincicdence for a song that used to be cool in 1999-2000. Wow... I'm getting old slowly but surely...
"Big Trucks" by Pedro the Lion
Dad, Dad, why did you let that man push you around like that?
You should have beat him down, down to the ground, down to the ground for that.
He said “son, you're still young and you always jump the gun.”
There's real people in the big, big trucks, that you flip off when they get in the way.
You get so hot, but you pay no mind to the great big sign that says over size load.
You really think they can go as fast as you in your '87 trans am?
They know you're in a terrible rush they're goin just as fast, as fast as they can.
Dad, Dad, I really don't understand what driving big trucks have to do with that man.
You should have taught him a lesson, about being rude.
About talking to you with such an attitude.
“Son, you're still young and you always jump the gun.”
There's real people in the big, big trucks, that you flip off when they get in the way.
You get so hot, but you pay no mind to the great big sign that says over size load.
You really think they can go as fast as you in your '87 trans am?
They know you're in a terrible rush they're goin just as fast, as fast as they can
David Judy... you should like this song, while you're out on the road :)
And, here's some photos that I made.. I call them "streetlight Fireworks" made after a very long day at the beach and cookout and fireworks...

The Beach House-Ocean View
Kris knows a handful of people who live in the Ocean View Area and they live right on th beach, it's soooo nice. So, we went out there for a nice relaxing day on the beach, playing with Luna until I seriously thought she would have a heart attack, and then watching fire works. Relaxing felt awesome. Plus, all the boys made a rule of no talking about work.. that was EXTRA nice!

Norfolk Tides-Fireworks
So, I decided not to photograph the baseball game and just wait for the fireworks. So, it was a fun time being at the game, and a great game, came down to the final inning, but the Tides won! Woot! So, happy 3rd/4th everyone!
The colors show up wayyyy better if you click on them one at a time... soo pretty.. :)

Navy Picnic. happy trees
Spending time with Kris, I didn't want to photograph anything and take time away from us. Sometimes it feels like work, and I get into a zone if I'm photographing. So, I thought I would share how great of a day we had for his company picnic which was held over near the beach where we got married. Very nostalgic and a fun afternoon seeing the very large amount of people who are stationed on his ship... and most of them weren't even there. Watching his friends play volleyball, I turned around and these trees just looked very happy.

Dinner..
We have a knack for finding amazing food in the most peculiar places. This was called the Boot... it's named after the shape of VA and everything is local and it was awesome! We had wine, cheese, beer, and it was tasty. I enjoyed the way the light came in through the window, as did Kris... so he shot a few of me :)
Luna was very excited when we got back to the car to greet her
