Nighttime exposures

I'm pretty excited about doing night exposures, which have been fun... :) Hope you enjoy

These are form WWII memorial and of the national monument, the FDR memorial and building of engraving downtown.

Some were shot with lensbaby, fisheye, or the new lense :)

We went down in search of the cherry blossoms and could only find a few ith actual flowers on them.

Coldstone Date with Sarah

So I went to coldstone with my friend Sarah, and wasn't planning on shooting but I had Olive Oil with me, so I ended up shooting a few long exposures of Ballston. I didn't get photos of the dog in the mall, which I was quite jealous Luna wasn't with us... but here's a few from my daily journey.

Interning.... day one.

So, I have an internship with Magin who owns Arlington Photography. The internship is doing portraits and wedding photography in the area. She's been around since 2006, and signed up for a thing called Groupon.com which sends coupons once a day for different things... services, restaurants, gyms, etc. And from that she received 466 responses, so I helped her with 13 photo/portrait sessions today. Here's a few of my favorite shots. She was obviously the main photographer, and I stood back with a zoom lens, capturing those off moments, candids and smiles that weren't too forced :) I prefer shooting in this way anyhow, it was so much fun. I can't wait to do more soon!

A little info... The Kim family with the two boys in blue stripe shirts were possibly our hardest clients of the day... their boys were 2... and twins.. I mean, it's totally expected. And then the girl on the bench wouldn't even look at the camera most of the day, and I got her smiling and looking at me. And, everyone has always told me I have a way with kids... I love them, and am genuinely interested in them, so I suppose that's why... they gravitate to me. And Kris is the same way. I think they just sense that I'm not embarrassed to act like a two year old. Well, some of them came out pretty well... I'm excited about being able to just step back and photograph the event, I had a great time with Magin, and look forward to meeting up and doing more shoots soon. :) 10 hours of photographing, plus the hectic-ness of people trying to get down to the cherry blossoms on top of keeping everyone straight, began to be a bit crazy. Lucky for us, there's only about 10 hours of photographing time in one day... :)

Day visit to VA Beach

It's 78 degrees, and Luna and I drove out to visit Kris for one day to have some frozen custard, walk on the beach and drive around with the top off the car. It was a great time. This photograph series just about sums up our day with Daddy!

Olde Towne

Sarah and I went out to Olde Towne Alexandria to enjoy some sunshine and use her new camera!! She bought a Mark ii so, we celebrating by putting it to work! We had a great time shooting, and wandering around, neither of us had been to Olde Town. I've been but not to walk around. The city reminds me quite a lot of Charleston, and the shopping, cobblestone streets, and waterfront are similar to Savannah quite a bit as well. Had a great time, and can't wait to go out again soon :)

New addition to the Family

So, Natalie brought her dog home from Michigan... it's been a little hairy, but so far Luna and Ariel are doing better at getting along. They're exact opposites, but they will eventually experience love for one another... eventually :) Ariel is a prime example of why I would be more scared of a little dog than a big one. She's fiesty but looks soooo innocent..much like Natalie hahaha
